Season 5 Player Movement - Rules and Regulations
Tue Jul 05 2016, 17:01
Since this season will be run a little differently to the straight league campaigns we've run in the past, there will be accordingly a few key updates to the way we'll handle cuts, signs and trades.
- The Free Agency will open after the end of Round 4 of the league fixtures, with teams being able to sign players only after they have completed all four of their initial matches.
- The waivers order will be the inverse of the overall standings on July 14th at midnight GMT (the morning after the day of Round 4) Teams that have played fewer than four matches at this point shall have their points and goal difference totals adjusted accordingly to scale up to teams that have played four matches for the purposes of determining the initial waivers order.
- The Free Agency shall close on August 15th at midnight GMT (i.e. before Round 13 of the league fixture programme). This is in order to prevent teams from signing players purely for the purpose of playing in the playoffs, having not taken part in the regular league season.
- Similarly, no trades of any kind will be permitted after this date.
- If a player requests to be cut against the wishes of their captain, they must wait three weeks before being able to join the Free Agency, in order to protect the integrity of the draft. Players that are cut by their captain will not need to wait as long as the free agency is otherwise open.
- The admins reserve the right to veto any trade that is posted. This is in order to prevent situations as in last season where lopsided trades caused Bubblehax to accumulate three first round picks in exchange for comparatively little. Trades should in future be more reasonable and captains should work towards fairer deals if they want them to go through.
